Vata season occurs from fall to early winter and represents the elements of ether and air. During this time of year the air becomes cooler and due to the dryness in the atmosphere, the ground begins to harden and a transition is reflected in the world around us as the trees shed their old leaves and make way for the new. The plants begin their journey towards going dormant for the winter season and take on the rough and dry qualities of Vata. The colder more windy weather reflects Vata’s qualities as well. The seeds that are released from many plants remind me of the creative qualities of Vata as these are the seeds that harness the potential of new life!
