Balance is a state of equilibrium.
It’s something that occurs in the body as a sign of health and it is also reflected in the world around you.
Today marks the first day of spring, also known as the spring equinox. On this day, we are reminded of just how beautiful balance can be. It’s a time where we begin the transition from cold winter nights to warmer sunny days, blossoming flowers, and the cozy sound of rain tapping at our windows.
This spring is a bit different, as many of us are spending a lot of time in our homes, trying to avoid the harsh realities of the ever-spreading coronavirus. While the threat of this virus is real, it doesn’t mean you have to stop living your life completely and it certainly shouldn’t stop you from enjoying the magical gifts this universe has to offer.
I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to kick off the sexy sacred balance series than by giving you some social distancing safe ways to celebrate the first day of spring!
May this be a day of balance and a reminder that there is light on the horizon!
What Does the Spring Equinox Represent?
There are four equinoxes; winter, summer, fall, and spring.
Today, March 19th, 2020 marks the spring equinox and the first day of spring.
This is the earliest arrival of the spring equinox in 124 years, as normally spring equinox takes place on March 20th. During this time, there are approximately 12 hours of sunlight and 12 hours of night and for just a moment in time, both the north and south poles are illuminated by the sun. (1)
The spring equinox is also known as the vernal equinox. The term equinox comes from the Latin word “equinoxium,” meaning “equality between day and night.” Vernal is Latin for spring. (2)
